Technician Scheduling
For many shops in the commercial vehicle sector, scheduling appointments means writing them on a whiteboard or on paper.
With its new DataBridge software, DSI Solutions is hoping to change that. “We want more people to start using the Service Shop Scheduling component,” says Ben Cramer, CEO of DSI Solutions. “We believe that the electronic schedule will help our commercial vehicle clients to be more efficient in using technician time.”
The calendar component of DataBridge lets shops schedule everything from a simple oil change to an engine overhaul. As well, it allows clients to block off time when technicians are away on holidays or off sick. A master calendar shows all technicians on staff and the time they have available.
If desired, each technician can view his own calendar, allowing him to see upcoming work for that day or the rest of the week.
DataBridge’s Scheduling Dispatch Center allows a service manager to deploy a team of technicians according to availability and areas of expertise.
